Let’s try out something new – every month I’m going to pull together a lust list. Things I’ve recently purchased that I love and things that I lust and long for. Being a designer my style and ideas are constantly changing and evolving. I always end up with about 20 safari tabs open on my iPhone or 100 screenshots of things that I love or want to do or see but I never purchase impulsively or document things to do at a later date and then inevitably forget about them and kick myself when I’m reminded of them.
This month it’s mostly about the marble and copper. Copper / rose gold has been a firm favourite of mine for some time. Our wedding was themed around my rose gold engagement ring so I think it will always have a place in my heart and home.
I’ve been following these girlies for as long as I can remember and when they released the ‘Marbelous Brush Set’ I knew I had to add it to my collection. I’d been looking at the Zoeva rose gold collection for a long time but these beauties blew those out the water! I’ve never been one to be mad about make up but getting that little bit older I’m beginning to realise the benefits of make-up and having good quality products. I’m currently waiting for these to come back in stock but they are so insta-worthy expect to see a stream of snaps when I have my set!
When I was a student I wore a watch all of the time, there’s something quite great about a nice watch. Plus being able to tell the time without hoiking your phone out your pocket or bag is a plus! I have extremely tiny wrists and haven’t found a watch I *love*. That was until I found out about Daniel Wellington. Rose gold *tick* different face sizes *tick* interchangeable straps to keep it fresh *tick tock*! I’m currently torn between the 26mm and the 34mm, if you guys have any recommendations tweet me on @xxmissbirdyxx!
I’ve never really explored London properly, I mean I’ve been, loads of times but properly explored? No. My list of London to do is ever growing, the hotels, the restaurants, the shops (the shoes!) the theatres, the sightseeing there’s just so much! Last Christmas I ticked off Hamley’s (quite possible the worst experience of my entire life with about 50,000 screaming kids) and in April I managed to tick off the Ice Bar. I’ve done Camden Market, Harrods and Fortnums and been to the theatre countless times but I find that every time I visit London I always have something to do. I want an adventure, a trip with no purpose, to just go in whatever direction I fancy and see what hidden gems I find!
This months best buy has been this amazing book. Cakemoji. Written by one of my favouritest people on the planet so I maybe a little biased! The super talented and successful Jenni, from Two Little Cats Bakery released this recipe book on July 28th all about Cake emojis. Yes. Cake. Emojis. Emoji’s made of cake! Genius right? I’m so proud of everything she has achieved, she definitely deserves a mention here!
I am so super excited to be able to bake some of her creations and share them with my work buddies next week! First up? You guessed it… Poop cupcakes! 💩 I’ll definitely be blogging and instagramming all about this so stay tuned!
The Eve Mattress
It’s official. I’m old. You may have seen me tweeting at the beginning of the week about a mattress. I’m in LOVE with the branding, tone of voice and ethos behind The Eve Mattress. Good branding really matters to me, a brand who cares about how they are perceived by their audience, a brand that has thought about who they are is so important and for me, Eve have nailed it. I’m now in the process of sweet talking Mr M about redecorating our bedroom and upgrading our bed and mattress to an Eve.
The eve balances comfort, coolness, durability, and just the right amount of bounce.
So there we have it! My August lust list is complete!
If you have any recommendations based on my lust list I’d love to hear them!
