Today I want to talk hair. Long hair. For those who follow me on Twitter/Instagram you’ll know that I get married *this* year. It’s all incredibly exciting but I’m now I’m in full on bridal preparation mode albeit it a little stressful.
When I was 10 years old I had beautiful long hair (it was that long, I could sit on it!) but like any 10 year old I wanted it cut and cut it got. Since then I’ve been playing with different lengths of hair and it’s currently kept at just longer than shoulder. Not a week goes by without me feeling massive regret about getting my locks chopped or getting hair envy of ladies who have tremendous tresses. Dreaming of having long flowing hair again for our wedding I went on a mission.
Just 3 inches longer
Now I’m usually quite skeptical about lotions and potions and like to thoroughly research and read reviews. In the past I have used deep conditioning restorative/reconstruction hair masks and endless different brands of shampoo and conditioner all claiming to be amazing but I’ve never found one I’ve truly loved. I’ve always felt that the conditioners just coat the hair and don’t repair it and I’m always left feeling as though there is a residue left behind, so on my mission I went. I wanted something that was going to give life back to my hair and give it some protection making it stronger which will hopefully in turn help make it grow.
I’ve been pondering for a while of what options I have, don’t get me wrong, my hair does grow but it does seem like it reaches just passed my shoulders and gives up. After reading multiple reviews by ladies saying these products are a god send, I took the plunge yesterday and spent some pennies at Lookfantastic.com on some Michael Van Clarke products.
The price tag on these products is quite hefty but with a discount code I’m sure you’ll be able to get them cheaper than full price. I managed to get 20% off over at Lookfantastic.com with a discount code which made a massive difference. The Shampoo 250ml retails at £17.00 the Conditioner 250ml at £17.00 and the Pre-wash Treatment 500ml at £29.00. I also purchased some of the Michael Van Clarke Hair and Nail nutrient capsules. 3 a day and you get 90 in the tub and these retail at £24.50.
“Most people have healthy hair at the roots but can’t grow health hair to the length they want. Modern lifestyles; heat styling, colouring, sun, sea – all damage and age the hair shaft. This wonder treatment with a unique cashmere protein and amino acid blend, slows the ageing process and helps your hair to grow longer faster.”
Now don’t get me wrong, I am still quite skeptical but after one wash with the shampoo and conditioner, my hair feels immensely better. It has more life and bounce, not as many fly aways and there’s no residue left behind. I’m yet to see how the Pre-wash Treatment performs but if the reviews are anything to go by I won’t be disappointed!
I’m planning on trialing this (until the capsules have all gone) I’ve taken my hair measurements (urm, yes I’m doing a proper test) and then I’ll come to a final verdict.
